At OSS, each student must receive an average score of 70 or higher to pass each class. Averages below 70 are scored as “below grade level standard” and students must participate in remediation activities to reach the minimum level of proficiency required to advance to the next grade level at OSS. With 16 or fewer students per class, long school days and a co-teaching model, our students usually receive average grades of A’s or B’s, and are required to participate in remediation or intervention activities with lead teachers and tutors if they are not achieving this level of performance.
