Lead Teacher 2008-2009 School Year – Americorps Volunteer The OSS lead teacher will serve as a role model for OSS classroom teachers through coaching and mentoring, while also acting as a classroom teacher and coordinator of the school's enrichment program. Required: an undergraduate degree and transcripts of college coursework; experience working with children, preferably urban, middle-school girls; a history of academic success. Responsibilities: assist OSS staff with development of the new school model, teach 4 to 5 classes per day, coach athletics and programs after school, serve as an advisor and advocate for a small group of students. Classroom Teacher 2008-2009 School Year – Americorps Volunteer Our Sisters’ School is seeking energetic, enthusiastic and talented individuals to join our staff as classroom teachers for our pioneer years. OSS teachers will serve as role models for students through coaching, tutoring, and mentoring. Required: undergraduate degree and transcripts of college coursework; knowledge or expertise in areas such as athletics, dance, drama, and other activities. Responsibilities: assist OSS staff with development of the new school model, teach 4 to 5 classes per day, coordinate after-school enrichment programs, supervise evening study, manage the school in the absence of the Executive Director, assist with recruitment of teaching staff and students for the 2009-2010 school year, coordinate field trips and evening events, serve as a mentor to other staff.
