Community as a Classroom
At Our Sisters’ School, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door—it extends into the world around us. Guided by our Core Values of Excellence, Community, Civic Engagement, and Leadership, we’ve embraced the idea of a “Community as Campus,” building strong ties with local organizations that enrich our students’ experiences.
Community Core
Whether sailing with the Community Boating Center, exploring wildlife at the Buttonwood Park Zoo, uncovering history at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, or studying ecosystems with the Lloyd Center for the Environment, our students learn by doing, connecting, and leading. As a proud Community Core School, these partnerships remind us that education is at its best when it’s rooted in relationships.

Become a Community Partner
OSS believes students gain confidence, experience, and inspiration by giving back to the community. We want our students to be active contributors, advocates, and learners, enabling them to engage in authentic learning that builds their capacity to be contributing citizens and role models for others.
We’re inviting your organization to partner with OSS in a six-week service-learning program for our 7th and 8th graders.
