About
Beth Barron is an East Bay, Rhode Island–based singer-songwriter, musician, educator, and community arts advocate whose music draws from folk, blues, Appalachian, and gospel traditions. A 2025 Motif Award winner for Best Singer-Songwriter and Best Live Music Act, Beth is known for her soulful voice, honest songwriting, and engaging live performances. Her repertoire blends original music with interpretations of influential songwriters including Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Leonard Cohen.
Beth has performed throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, including at The Narrows Center for the Arts, where she opened for acclaimed artists Jon Pousette-Dart and Tom Rush. She also performs with the Beth Barron String Band and is an active member of the region’s folk community through the Rhode Island Folk Festival, Providence PorchFest, and Ladies of Folk of Rhode Island.
In addition to performing, Beth brings an extensive background in education and music instruction. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island and has worked as a teacher, behavioral therapist, and music instructor. Whether performing or teaching, Beth brings a commitment to connection, creativity, and helping others find confidence and authentic expression through music.
