About
Margaret McSweeny is our Assistant Director of Advancement, working with the Director of Advancement on school publications & fundraising efforts.
Margaret is a native of the South Coast. She first worked at OSS as one of the founding AmeriCorps teachers from 2008 to 2010. Then, from 2012 to 2014, she was our 7th and 8th grade humanities teacher and Head of the Humanities Department. Margaret served as the Advancement and Volunteer Coordinator from 2017 to 2025 before taking on her current position.
Margaret has an M.A. in Education from UMass Dartmouth and a B.A. in Religion from the University of Puget Sound. Outside of OSS, Margaret continues her focus on education, social justice, and building community, serving on the Old Rochester Regional School Committee since 2020 and being an active member of the the Women’s Alliance of Southeastern Massachusetts and the YWCA Southeastern Massachusetts.
