About
Jennifer McGonagle is our Math Teacher, inviting students to challenge themselves to develop their skills in the mathematics classroom and beyond.
She draws on many years as a middle school teacher, extensive professional development in the area of math instructional practices and work in special education to design a learning environment especially for learning math. Jen believes that learning math can be both rigorous and support all learners to excel.
For Jen mathematics is worth learning for both future academic success and for the cognitive skills it develops. She is an enthusiastic coach and cheerleader helping her students relate to mathematics with a sense of curiosity and joy. Holding a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College with a major in Psychology and Education, as well as an M.Ed. from Endicott College with a concentration in Integrative Education, she has over 25 years of experience as an educator across elementary and middle school age groups and across a number of school settings.
Outside of OSS, Jen enjoys spending time in nature, seeing the world through her children’s eyes and building caring communities through participation in civic groups that are focused on the performing arts, service, reflection and solidarity.
